BespokeBug

BespokeBug is blog that showcases handmade & custom designed goods. I was tasked with creating a responsive design that would allow the often times interesting imagery of the featured products to speak to for themselves. This image-first design allows users to rapidly consume data in their quest to find something that interests them.

Using the Foundation framework I was able to create custom WordPress theme that looks great on everything from an iPhone to an iPad and everything in between – without losing any of the functionality. Users can still utilize social sharing and quickly scan through items with ease.

Sue Cibotti

SueCibotti.com is a WordPress backed redesign I did for a local Boston real estate agent looking to create a more functional online sales tool, as well as a website more reflective of her brand.

I had a smaller budget to work with on this project so, we agreed to customize a premium WordPress theme in order to reduce development time and keep costs low.

Creating a way to display her clients listings in the best light possible was paramount. Typical MLS listings use small optimized images, are full of crowded unnecessary data, and are just plain old messy.

I gave users larger clear images, an easy to use slideshow, only the data that matters, a usable map of the area, and most importantly, a prominent way to contact the agent for more information. These are pages worthy of sharing with friends – which keeps sellers happy.

Lastly, the website needed to perform on any screen, regardless of its size, so I made sure the entire site was responsive. Even on the smallest of smartphones customers will be able to get all the necessary information about Sue and her services.

Charles LaRocca

After realizing that I was not the #1 result in Google for my own name, I figured it was finally time to develop the dusty old Charles LaRocca domain name into an elegant responsive design to showcase my résumé.

Given my area of expertise, and knowing that I might use this résumé in future job seeking efforts, it was an obvious choice to make sure it worked in all resolutions. Instead of worrying about what device potential employers (or clients) might use, I now send my url and hope they check it out on their iPad, iPhone, and desktop.

Update: Launching this simple one page design allowed me to control both the #1 and #2 spot on Google for the search term “Charles LaRocca.”

Mass General Hospital

Mass General Hospital came to me with a very specific task of slicing up their new MGH Heart Center .PSD design into valid HTML and CSS. In just a matter of a couple of days they had four production ready versions of the design to use on their homepage as well as the one, two, and three column pages throughout the website.

The final HTML code made from their PSD
